Lewis Hamilton, World Champion 2008
Lewis Hamilton drove the McLaren MP4/23 in 2008 winning 5 Grand Prix:- Australian, Monaco, British, German and Chinese GP's.

Points for the 18 round season were awarded from all the races.

With 10 points for a win, 6 for second, 4 for third & 2 for 5th, Lewis Hamilton scored:- (10+2+4+6+10+10+10+2+6+4+4+10+2) = 98 Points.

Lewis Hamilton won the 2008 Driver's World Championship at the final round of the season, the Brazilian GP, by overtaking Timo Glock on the final corner of the last lap to finish 5th, beating Felipe Massa to the title by 1 point.

Initially there was controversy as there were suggestions that Glock let Hamilton by but after consideration it was clear Glock was in trouble with dry tyres in wet conditions, losing 18 seconds on the last lap.
